In the afternoon, embark on a fascinating exploration of ancient Khmer architecture starting with Prasat Kravan, renowned for its unique interior brick carvings. Continue to Srah Srang, the “Royal Baths,” historically used for ritual purification. Visit Banteay Kdei, a temple complex encircled by four concentric walls, then move on to Ta Prohm, famed for its enchanting, overgrown ruins that have remained largely untouched since discovery, preserving an aura of mystery.
Next, visit Neak Pean, a serene fountain situated in the center of a pool symbolizing the mythical Himalayan mountain-lake. Finally, explore Preah Khan, built by King Jayavarman VII, featuring towering enclosures and narrow corridors. Unlike Ta Prohm, Preah Khan is well preserved, with ongoing restoration enhancing its grandeur.
