Upon arrival in Siem Reap, proceed directly to explore the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). Highlights include the South Gate with its massive statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple renowned for its 54 towers adorned with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Next, visit Angkor Wat, the most famous temple on the Angkor plain. Spanning 81 hectares, this majestic 12th-century complex rivals the Imperial Palace in Beijing in size. Its iconic five towers, depicted on the Cambodian flag, stand as a testament to classical Khmer art and architecture. End your day with a breathtaking sunset from the top of Pre Rup Temple.

Dinner is not included. Overnight at your hotel in Siem Reap.

After breakfast at your hotel, explore the fascinating interiors of Prasat Kravan, the “Royal Baths” of Srah Srang, and the temple complex of Banteay Kdei, enclosed by four concentric walls. Then visit Ta Prohm, one of the region’s most atmospheric temples, largely untouched since its discovery and cloaked in mystery. Continue to Neak Pean, a unique fountain temple set in the middle of a pool symbolizing the mythical Himalayan mountain-lake, and Preah Khan Temple, built by King Jayavarman VII. Preah Khan features towering enclosures and winding corridors, and unlike Ta Prohm, it is well preserved thanks to ongoing restoration efforts.
