• Upon arrival at the Laos–Thai border in Huay Xai, you’ll be greeted by our guide and driver.
• Optional breakfast at a local restaurant in Huay Xai.
• After lunch (not included), depart for Nong Khiaw.
• Arrive in Nong Khiaw around 5:00 PM.
• Hotel check-in and relax.
• Dinner on your own (optional).

Overnight: Nong Khiaw, Laos

• Begin with a short walk to the river where your slow boat awaits.
• Enjoy a 50-minute scenic upstream cruise on the Nam Ou River, observing limestone cliffs and daily river life.
• Stop 1: Ban Houy Hoiy (Houy Hoi Village) – Learn about the tribe's traditional lifestyle and river-based livelihood.
• Continue by boat to:
• Stop 2: Ban Sop Kong (Khmu Village) – Understand the culture and traditions of the Khmu people.
• Begin a 1.5-hour trek through rice paddies to a beautiful waterfall.
• Enjoy a Lao-style picnic lunch and a refreshing swim at the falls.
• After lunch, return to the river, learn basic kayaking techniques and paddle downstream.
  • Spot local life: fishing, kids swimming, water buffalo relaxing.

  • Optional: Rest and enjoy the scenery from the support boat.

• Arrive back in Nong Khiaw where our driver will transfer you to Luang Prabang (approx. 2-hour drive).
• Arrive Luang Prabang around 7:00 PM and check-in at your city center hotel.

• 8:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Luang Prabang center.
• Head to the pier and board a long-tail slow boat departing at 8:30 AM on the Mekong River.
• Enjoy scenic river views, passing by rural villages, fishermen, and riverside life.

Stops Include:

• Ban Xang Hai ("Whiskey Village") – Discover how traditional Lao Lao rice whiskey is made and enjoy a tasting.
• Pak Ou Caves – Explore limestone caves filled with thousands of Buddha statues, a sacred pilgrimage site for centuries.
• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
• After lunch, visit the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls.

  • Explore the 3-tier falls, swim in turquoise pools, and visit the Bear Rescue Center.

• On the return to Luang Prabang, hike up Mount Phousi for panoramic sunset views over the city and Mekong River.
• Return to your hotel in the evening.
